Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories are of discovering an instrument hidden in her attic and becoming fascinated with the sounds it produced. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. The Aksnes family encouraged her to not to pursue music solely for pleasure or for the sake of development but instead, she should explore it. As a result, she began writing her own music. Her influences include renowned authors Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in addition to her affinity with Bjork's style. Her mother encouraged her to perform her music in front of the public, but not so that she could be famous, but to help others realize how important they are and what they can do for humanity. The mother of her child suggested that she be able to perform her music publicly in order to help people realize their own importance and how they can affect the world. It wasn't until her 14th birthday when she shared her story with her parents. Aurora isn't something she imagined as a child. She says she just likes to compose music. Music to her is the most effective method of feeling anything.
